Lil Toby

Rachel is totally into TobyMac and Jeremy Camp now that she has seen them live. We were listening to Portable Sounds (TobyMac's album) yesterday and Rachel ran upstairs and came down dressed like this:
Here is her inspiration (TobyMac):
Lil Toby's feelin' so fly!

I'll Save You Tommy! Arf! Arf!

So I got home a few minutes after the kids today and when I arrived home I found Tommy looking like this:

Apparently he and Katya were wrestling and Macy (who is Tommy's self appointed protector) decided to save Tommy. She was attempting to grab Tommy away from Katya and this is what Tommy got in return. Why she didn't go after Katya is a mystery. Apparently she is like a doggie life guard instead of a doggie ninja warrior. So now Tommy looks like G.I. Joe. All he needs now is Kung Fu grip to finish the package.

Concert groupies

on 2.09.2008

Last night we went to the Jeremy Camp/TobyMac concert and had a blast. This was the first concert for Katya, Rachel and Tommy and they loved it. All of the kids love TobyMac and so this was a treat that we decided to bite the bullet and take them all. They liked Jeremy Camp well enough, but kept asking when TobyMac was going to start! In the end they all (except Tommy who was cashless) bought themselves cool hats (and of course were sporting them today).

Poor Katya wasn't quite feeling well yesterday and today so that affected her enjoyment of her first concert. I thought she looked a bit less than excited last night and then when she ended up with a temperature today it all made more sense.

Rachel, on the other hand, was so excited she was about ready to come out of her skin! She had some birthday money and lead the charge on buying concert merchandise. The line was so long that the kids all decided to just order something online, but then as we were heading away from the merchandise table, Jeremy Camp came out to sign autographs. Naturally, we got in line and the kids had him sign their tickets. So, after waiting in line for an autograph the line for merchandise was almost gone so we went back over and they all picked out their hats. So, as we are once again heading toward the door Rachel declares that she needs Jeremy Camp to sign her Jeremy Camp hat!! The line was very short at this point (because it was so late!!!) so the kids got back in the autograph line, Rachel got her hat signed, and we got a picture with Jeremy Camp. Bonus! Here we are (notice the cool hats the kids are wearing):

I also took a picture of the kids with Matthew West, who was the opening act:

Here's a couple of shots I got during the concert. The zoom on my camera did a great job!

Unfortunately, this is probably Sam's last concert. He's just not a rock music fan. At all. He totally endured this concert--especially the TobyMac part. Although he gave them props for their ability to dance and fully entertain. The music though was totally not something he liked at all. Jazz is more his style. And TobyMac is not a jazz artist!

The kids will be talking about this whole experience for a while though! And it was totally worth it for the huge thrill that it gave them!
