Waste not, want not

We were having a dessert the other night that Tommy couldn't have, so he got a sugar free jello cup to have for his dessert. After getting it from the refrigerator he looked at me sweetly and said, "Mom, can I get a plastic spoon? Because I don't want to waste a metal spoon 'cause we'd have to put it in the dishwasher."
